The Association of Learning Development in Higher Education (ALDinHE) Certified Practitioner (CeP) of Learning Development programme at Oxford (or CeP of Learning Development programme for short) is a series of workshops to support staff who have roles supporting students’ academic skills development across the collegiate University to gain a nationally recognised professional accreditation. This includes Learning Development officers, graduate study skills advisors or mentors, and academic skills lecturers or tutors in colleges, departments, faculties or professional services.

The programme will support you to prepare an application to ALDinHE to gain recognition for your role. Upon a successful application, you will be awarded CeP (Learning Development).

What is CeP (Learning Development)?

The CeP (Learning Development) certification scheme is managed by ALDinHE and provides pathways to accreditation for learning development professionals.

ALDinHE CeP is an opportunity for you to gain recognition for your learning development work, join a network of peers across the UK and beyond, and support your continuing professional development.

How can I register for the CeP of Learning Development programme?

The CeP of Learning Development programme is open to Oxford staff who have primarily student-facing roles which focus on developing academic literacies and study skills through curricular, co-curricular or extra-curricular provision such as 1-2-1 or workshop sessions. A minimum of two years significant experience of working in a learning development capacity is required to apply to the ALDinHE for CeP accreditation. In the first programme workshop, we will support you to identify if ALDinHE CeP is appropriate for your experience.

To register for a place on the programme, please complete our short form (SSO required) by 12noon, Monday 3 March 2025. If you do not have an SSO, please contact us.

When is the programme delivered?

The CeP of Learning Development programme comprises of three 90-minute workshops designed to support you in preparing your ALDinHE CeP application. A small amount of pre-workshop preparation is required, and you will be supported in the sessions to prepare your application.

The workshops and support are timed to enable you to complete complete your application and be able to submit it by the end of April 2025.

Each workshop will be held at Littlegate House (Seminar Room, Level 2), 16/17 St Ebbe's Street, Oxford OX1 1PT. You can view the building access guide at https://www.accessguide.ox.ac.uk/littlegate-house.
